Moon Security has grown to serve the Northwest, including Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho, with a dedicated team of 130 employees. The company has offices in Pasco, Spokane and Seattle with over 5,000 monitored accounts and 4,000 service accounts. Although its client base is impressive, Moon Security focuses on quality over quantity. Caring about customers is first and foremost the most critical aspect of the company’s business.
Providing Customer Peace of Mind
The Moon Security team brings a sense of security to any situation, be it families with young children or senior citizens living alone. Customers know that if an emergency arises, Moon Security will be there. “We have the best technology for our clients’ protection,” details Miller. “More importantly, we have operators who do it right every time.”
Although Miller has over four decades of security systems experience and knowledge of the technical side of the business, he most thoroughly enjoys discussing the people aspect. Miller’s passion for serving the community has helped foster Moon Security’s customer-first mentality.
“Our central monitoring station staff is certified and trained,” adds Miller. “They’re capable of handling your emergency with professionalism, speed and skill. When our customers come to us after we’ve assisted them in a crisis, we want to hear them say, ‘I knew Moon Security would take care of me.’ That’s what we want to hear; that’s why we do our jobs.”
With a genuine drive to please, Moon Security provides monitoring and alarm systems with the latest technological advancements. The company’s UL-listed Central Monitoring station is CSAA Five Diamond certified and monitors thousands of client security systems. “Behind every piece of equipment or software package stands a dedicated staff committed to making sure their clients have the best products, systems and services for their security needs,” shares Miller.
Ensuring customers receive the best service possible and peace of mind when it comes to homes and belongings really comes down to the company’s core philosophy. Moon Security is in the midst of a three- to five-year brand renovation plan that emphasizes culture and teaches employees that customer-first service begins with their decision to make a difference in others’ lives.
“What we’re really teaching is a sense of self accountability,” shares Miller. “We’ve realized we need to start from the inside out with our employees. Most people believe that the foundation of customer service is a just a phone conversation, but it’s much more than that.”
For the team at Moon Security, customer relationships are more than a voice on the other end of the phone. “It starts with understanding and deciding to truly care about the customer’s needs,” explains Miller. “We need to go the extra mile and ask the right questions. In today’s environment people expect more for their dollar and we’re going to give them that.”
In order to give clients more for their money, the company invests over $90,000 in annual training to maintain the highest level of professionalism for installers, technicians, central station operators and uniformed security officers. Moon Security is also involved in the Washington Electronic Security Association (WAESA) state apprenticeship program.
“We’re a full-service company,” explains Miller. “We sell, service, install and monitor a wide range of security solutions.” These divisions of loss prevention and communications programs include security and fire detection systems, closed circuit television (CCTV) visual monitoring and recording systems and controlled access systems.
“We dedicate ourselves to providing unsurpassed, personalized, quality installations and monitoring,” shares Miller. “Whether your security concerns are residential or commercial, local or global, large or small, we provide customized solutions to suit your needs.”
Connecting with the Community
Moon Security’s passion for security goes beyond individual clients’ needs and reaches the Tri-City area at large. “I serve and have served on numerous local, state and national boards for the past three decades, including 22 years of service on the Pasco School Bond Levy Committee where our team has been instrumental in securing nearly $1 billion in funding for Pasco schools,” details Miller. “I graduated from Pasco High in 1975, and all four of my children attended school in Pasco. If we can impact our children through the schools that impact will cycle back and have even greater impact on the whole community.”
